Another downtown gem of Colorado Springs, this is my favorite seafood restaurant in town. As a native Californian, finding good fish this far from the ocean isn’t easy, but Bonny and Read does it right. Definitely more formal of a venue - with plush seats, polished wood tables, and glass chandeliers - Bonny and Read makes for a special birthday or anniversary lunch or dinner. Great for a filling seafood or steak dinner at any time of the week.
The steak is great, but the fish is spectacular. I would pick beef with another restaurant in town like Cowboy Star, but always go to Bonny and Read for the Tuna Tartar, King Crab, and Blackened Shrimp Alfredo among other fishy finds. Our Featured Crave is the Alaskan Halibut ($29), served with crispy red potatoes, red sorrel, and grilled lemon beurre blanc. A fancy dinner for a sophisticated palate. The fish is a very tender cut, almost sushi-grade, and is paired with the best flavors for such a pick. Pair with the Pirate’s Booty (Cognac, Triple Sec, fresh lemon) for a dinner that makes you feel like the captain of the town.
